Deactivate A TV Box
If a resident moves from Assisted Living to Memory Care, the TV box should be uninstalled (deactivated) from their TV. The resident will still appear on resident birthdays and their family can still receive messages from staff.

Use the Deactivate TV Box option when a resident no longer wants their OdessaConnect TV box connected (i.e. they dislike the service) OR if they have a TV Box installed and move apartments from Assisted Living to Memory Care.
If the resident is deceased or has otherwise moved out of the community, use the Move Out button. Click here to read instructions on the Move Out button
Deactivating a TV Box simply means the resident will no longer have an orange OdessaConnect STB installed on their TV. As a result, they can no longer receive messages and content on their TV from staff and family. Deactivated TV Box residents will continue to:
Appear in directory listings and on the resident list on the website
Appear on birthdays on the print calendar
Appear on digital signage birthday slide, if digital signage is installed at the community
IMPORTANT: Have active family members. Any associated family members will continue to receive updates from the community on their OdessaConnect mobile app for families (or by logging into their account on our website)
Find and use the Deactivate TV Box setting:
click Residents on the left sidebar
click into the resident’s profile
scroll near the bottom of the page
click the orange Manage TV Box button. A dropdown menu will appear.
Click Deactivate TV Box
A small confirmation window will appear near the top of the page. Click OK to confirm.
TV Box is now deactivated
After a resident TV box is deactivated remember to uninstall the hardware (the TV box) from their TV and collect the orange remote control.
