How does a resident know they have something NEW?

Residents are notified in several different ways that they have something new to check out. This could be a new message from staff, a photo from a family member, a YouTube link from the Activity Director and more.

When the resident first turns their TV on, they are greeted with the welcome screen. If there is new content to view, a red NEW flag is displayed.

If the resident presses the STAR button to Continue to the main menu, there are more NEW flags – Messages and Photos — indicating there is something to check out.

If there is an unread message waiting to be viewed, the Messages LED will glow solid orange. This is located on the front of the OdessaConnect TV box. After the unread message(s) are read, the light will go out.

Lastly, If a resident it watching TV and something new comes in (message, photo, survey), the TV screen will automatically switch inputs to OdessaConnect and display the new content. The residents can read and react to the message, then return to watching their TV program by pressing the blue TV button on the orange remote.
