Shift Request Management - Department Head
Department Heads preside over shift request approval and rejection. There are three types of shift requests that can be made by Team Members:
Open Shift - employee is offering to claim a shift that is not currently being covered. This is also known as an unfilled shift. These open shifts are posted by the admin.
Swap Shift - one employee wants to trade shifts with another employee. This is also known as a trade shift request.
Giveaway Shift - one employee is trying to find coverage for their shift and is asking others if they can pick it up.
When an employee initiates a shift request, all relevant team members are notified on their phones. The department head is also notified on their phone and computer of the initial request.
The Department Head is notified when a decision or response has been made on the Team Members side. (Yes, I want pick up this shift OR Yes, I want to swap shifts OR Yes, I want to claim this Open Shift).
The Department Head can close the entire request (Reject All) or individually reject requests (Reject) or Approve the shift request (Approve). These approval or rejection actions can be made on the OdessaTeams website or mobile app.
